Tusch, Trommel, Tröööt: Die letzte Kunstaktion im "Tresor - Raum für flüchtige Kunst" steht vor der Tür. Nicht ganz zufällig zum traditionellen Termin des Weltspartags, denn Hanns-Michael Rupprechter, Leiter des Stuttgarter Kunstvereins, bittet zur Performance "Nichts im Tresor", bei der die Panzerknacker (dargestellt von vier gewichtigen Gestalten aus der Stuttgarter Kunstszene) in den "Tresor" einsteigen werden. Was genau während der Aktion passiert, bleibt eine Überraschung. Insider rechnen mit einer Mischung aus Improvisationstheater, Musical, Lesung und Performance. Unter anderem wird die Möglichkeit, das "Nichts" zu besitzen und zu verwalten, in Walt-Disney-Manier philosophisch erörtert.



Dass der „offizielle“ Weltspartag dieses Jahr aufgrund des Reformationstags um einen Tag vorverlegt wurde, ist Rupprechter egal: "Für die Panzerknackerbande ist und bleibt der Weltspartag der 31. Oktober und heilig. Derart sogar, dass sie an diesem Feiertag arbeiten."
Im Vorfeld der Aktion hat Hanns-Michael Rupprechter den Stuttgarter Oberbürgermeister, die Kulturbürgermeisterin, die Kulturamtsleiterin und zahlreiche Fraktionsangehörige um "eine angemessene Befüllung des Tresors" gebeten, "der bei sorgfältiger Handhabung gut 200.000 5-Euro-Scheinen Platz bietet". Die hoffentlich erfolgreichen Panzerknacker würden das Geld dann unter den anwesenden Notleidenden aus der Kunstbranche gerecht verteilen, sozusagen neuen Ideen der Umverteilung folgend. Rupprechter verspricht: "Ich selbst werde Nichts dabeihaben und Anteile davon an die durch die Knete Beglückten ausgeben, so dass diese gegenüber dem Finanzamt feststellen können, dass sie Nichts besitzen und somit auch keine Steuern bezahlen müssen."

Bald schon findet aber tatsächlich "nichts" mehr im "Tresor - Raum für flüchtige Kunst" statt, denn nicht nur die Veranstaltungen im "Tresor", auch der Kunstraum selbst ist flüchtig. Höhe- und Schlusspunkt der "Tresor"-Tätigkeit wird am Samstag, dem 7. November, ab 14 Uhr ein halbtägiges interdisziplinäres Symposium zum Thema "Flüchtigkeit" sein, auf dem die fünf Referenten (vom Philosophen bis zum Wirtschaftswissenschaftler) sich aus ganz verschiedenen Perspektiven dem Phänomen des Flüchtigen annähern werden. Parallel finden temporäre künstlerische Aktionen statt. Gesonderte Einladung folgt!

Trumpets, drums, tooooot: The last art action in Tresor – Space for Ephemeral Art is about to take place. Not by coincidence on the date traditionally reserved for World Savings Day, because Hanns-Michael Rupprechter, head of the Stuttgart Art Association, invites the public to a Performance, “Nothing in the Safe”, in which safe crackers (played by four massively built characters from the Stuttgart art scene) are to climb into the “vault”. What exactly is to happen during the action will be a surprise. Insiders predict a blend of improvisational theatre, musical, poetry reading and performance. Among other things, the possibility of owning and administering “nothing” will be philosophically discussed in the true Walt Disney manner. It makes no difference to Rupprechter that the “official” World Savings Day was moved forwards one day in Germany because of Reformation Day: “For the safe-cracking gang, World Savings Day has always been sacred and will remain so. So much so that they work on this holiday.”
Preparing for the action, Hanns-Michael Rupprechter has requested the mayor of Stuttgart, the mayor for cultural affairs, the director of the Office for Cultural Affairs and numerous members of the party in power locally for “suitable material to fill the vault”, “which, if handled carefully, can hold some 200 000 five-euro notes”. If successful, which we hope they will be, the safe crackers would distribute the money equitably among impoverished representatives of the art scene present at the time, following up new ideas for redistributing wealth, as it were. Rupprechter promises: “I personally plan to have nothing on me and to hand out shares of it to those fortunate enough to receive some of the dough so they can declare to the Inland Revenue that they own nothing, hence won’t have to pay taxes.”

Soon enough, however, “nothing” more will be taking place at Tresor – Space for Ephemeral Art because not just the events at Tresor are transient; the art space itself is ephemeral. Activity at Tresor will come to a climax and end on Saturday, 7 November, beginning at 2 pm with a half-day interdisciplinary symposium on the subject of “ephemerality”. Five lecturers (ranging from philosophers to economists) will approach the phenomenon of transience from a variety of different angles. Temporary art actions will be taking place in parallel.
